Miss America 2008 on Pageant Talk Radio!
North Pole Express/Santas Wish mission 2008 – Can you help a deployed soldier’s child enjoy Christmas?
Santas Wish Mission
The mission of Santas wish/North Pole Express is to gather sponsors, churches, and local organizations every year to directly sponsor a child of a military service member who is deployed. Children are impacted daily when a parent is deployed. Our military children serve also by sacrificing so much and dearly missing their parent.
Goals of Santas wish/ North Pole Express
The primary goal is for a sponsor to send gifts to a little hero at Christmas. Sending a gift to a service members child is sending a message to the little heroes at home that they are not alone in their support for their deployed parent and reminding them that we also support their parent and also support them. It promotes a sense of productiveness and patriotism and boosts the self esteem of the child who is dearly missing mom or dad and in some cases missing both parents.
Objective of Santas wish/ North Pole Express
Is to bring a smile to a child’s face on Christmas morning, even tho’ we can not bring back their parent for the holidays. We can brighten their day especially when you include a letter of encouragement to the child. Showing them we support them and are their for them. Activities you can sponsor in your own neighborhoods
Have a yard sale with the proceeds going to your designated child you sponsor.
Contact your local church and hold a toy drive after Sunday Service in honor of our troops children. Gather with local church members and have a gift wrapping and mailing party and send the gifts directly from your church. This is a personal one on one connection with a military family that can use all the encouragement you can give.
Hold a bake sale and take proceeds and go shopping for the sponsored child or family you sponsor. Holiday goodies sell very well this time of year.
Patriotism~ Our troop members children sacrifice so much while a parent is deployed. Showing Patriotism to these children shows a positive side out of all the negativity from the media. Imagine a child’s face on Christmas morning when he or she opens their gifts from your or your organization and finds that special letter of support on a day they are missing their parent so much. That special package from you along with your letter of support telling them how much you support them and their deployed parent will not only brighten their holiday but give them the self esteem they need and it will make them feel so much joy and happiness inside knowing that “YOU” just the average American sends their love and support.
Lets show them a positive side of this country in a time when the economy seems bleak and the presidential candidacy is the latest news of the day making headlines. Its a small gesture for these kids who sacrifice so much. Last year was a success and this year can be a bigger success with your love and help.
Please contact them for details on what you can do. You can find them on MySpace at: http:
There are still several children without sponsors for this Christmas! Please help if you can, and if not, please be sure to pass this along to others! My 8 year old son is even sponsoring a child with his own money!!
